Emerging Water and Energy-Saving Technologies for the Food Processing Industry

This report identifies nine innovative technologies that show promise for reducing water and energy consumption but are not yet fully implemented in industry. For industrial cleaning and sanitation, dry ice blasting, Biomist disinfection, electrochemically activated solutions, ultrasound, and cold plasma technologies are explored. For the recycling and reuse of water, ClearCove, BioFiltro, forward osmosis, and membrane distillation are presented.
