Natural Gas Intensity of Water

This study, commissioned by Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) pursuant to a directive by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), examined the natural gas intensity of water resources and water and wastewater systems within SoCalGas’ service area. The study found that while much less natural gas is used for water sector purposes than electricity, the number is not “zero” and SoCalGas should continue to offer energy efficiency programs that save natural gas by saving water.
