Southern California Edison Water-Energy Pilot with Irvine Ranch Water District, Phase 1 Report

Southern California Edison (SCE) and its customer, Irvine Ranch Water District (IRWD), are collaborating on the identification and evaluation of innovative opportunities for water and wastewater agencies to support local and regional electric reliability. The Phase 1 assessment of IRWD’s baseline electric requirements and identification of “conventional” vs. “non-conventional” project
opportunities was completed in March 2017. During Phase 2, “non-conventional” projects that provide both
water and electric system benefits will be evaluated and ranked for potential (co-)development.
